Southside Hope expands mentor opportunities with the recent announcement of 2024 programming. The Bridge to Self-Sufficiency® program provides training and skills to help parents advance their personal goals and achievement in five key areas of economic mobility:

  • · Family Stability
  • · Well Being
  • · Financial Management
  • · Education & Training
  • · Employment & Career

The program uses the EMPATH Bridge to Self-Sufficiency® and other strategies provided to help participants pace and measure milestones and accomplishments. During the 6-week program, Mobility Mentors® play a vital role in supporting their progress and help them stay on track.

In the Bridge to Self-Sufficiency® program, mentors are the “coach”, and the participant is the star “player”.  Mentors help parents identify challenges to goals, and set strategies to address them.

“Mentors make this program possible and provide the participants with another resource and added support,” shares Lori Fisher, Program Director. “Many of our alumni continue their supportive relationships with mentors and report reaching even higher goals and success.”
