South Side Hope Celebrates First New Home Owner

Published by admin on

On Wednesday, South Side Hope celebrated its first new home owner. Our workshops aimed at educating potential buyers on the entire process are already showing results.

From Hope to Fulfillment

Khalifa attended the First Time Homebuyers Workshop hosted by Latanya Settles of US Bank and Angela Wright of e-Merge Real Estate on Saturday February 2, 2019.  She was able to ask a variety of questions on the homebuying process and learned strategies to help strengthen her credit score.  Khalifa followed those strategies and became the first person in her family to purchase and own a home on Wednesday, June 26, 2019.

“We are super excited to help one of our residents achieve success through our Homebuyer Workshops,“ shares Lori Fisher, one of the South Side Hope directors.  “We want people to know that you can achieve the American Dream and that Far South Columbus is a great place to live, work, play and worship.”

South Side Hope Community Development Corporation, Inc. was formally established in January 2019 with a focus of saving its surrounding community.  The organization promotes home ownership and long-term residency on the south side.  The other board members are Robert Patterson, Dr. Charles Ferguson, Angela Wright, LaTanya Settles, and Merissa Hightower.

Watch for future workshops being planned for this fall.
