Southside Hope’s The Bridge to Your Future program will provide summer employment for Marion-Franklin youth as well as learning opportunities for successful transition to adulthood. Participating youth will explore career opportunities, while learning financial literacy and the value of community and service.
The youth will be contracted from mid-June through late-August to provide basic lawncare services for local Marion-Franklin residents. “We are bridging the gap for the young people to be better prepared for adulthood, to to connect with their neighbors, and to instill a sense of neighborhood pride in the community,” says director, Lori Fisher.
The Bridge to Your Future program is made possible from funding by the Columbus Department of Neighborhoods. Youth in Marion-Franklin interested in summer employment should apply online here. Deadline for applications is May 21, 2025.
Local residents in the Marion-Franklin neighborhood who may struggle with keeping their lawn maintained, may apply to be served by the program. The program will select up to 30 properties to be mowed weekly from June 9 – August 29, 2025. The application deadline for free lawncare in the Marion-Franklin area is June 6, 2025.
